The Best Headphones of 2020 Momentum 3 Wireless With You
Sennheiser's Momentum family is one of the most important headphones that brands have made into a series/family and released with high-end features in recent years.
The Momentum family is a series that started in 2014 with the first over-the-head wired headphones in the series. Over the years, when wired technologies started to leave their place to wireless technologies, the Momentum family transitioned to the 2nd generation.
Especially in this series, there were big changes. Momentum 2 series, in which ANC (Active Noise Canceling) feature stands out and a new retro concept was determined in design, was highly appreciated by users with both over-the-head, in-ear and wireless models and became the best-selling premium headphones in Sennheiser history.
In the last months of 2019, a new member of the Momentum family was launched. Let's start a quick review of the headset, which is considered to be the best-sounding premium headset you can hear by many reviewers and users on the market right now.
As Hifilife, we examined the product down to the smallest detail. You may want to read this article before you buy.
Who is Sennheiser?
Although we do not think it will be much, there may be those who do not know Sennheiser. So let's start with the Sennheiser introduction first.
Sennheiser is one of the most important sound companies in the world, founded in 1945 in Hanover, Germany. Fritz Sennheiser, an engineer, founded his own company right after the Second World War and has written his name in an important place for professionals or everyday users with headphones, microphones, on-stage systems since then.
Sennheiser's only focus has been on products that have perfect acoustic capabilities, are equipped with constantly updated technologies, and delight audiophiles.
After a little Sennheiser briefing, let's move on to our product review.
First glance
First of all, as in all new products, a white-blue dominant box welcomes us. Sennheiser's previous dark design boxes are replaced by a more spacious design. There is also a "Bircom" hologram on the front of the product. It states that this product is brought by Bircom, the Official Distributor of Türkiye, and it is original.
The contents of the box and the codecs it has are indicated on the side surfaces of the box. In addition, there is a "QR Code" located holographically on the side surface, where you can check the authenticity of your product.
When we look at the bottom surface, there is the serial number of the product, the product code, the place of manufacture and other declared information.
Box contents:

Ergonomics and Usage:
The new Sennheiser Momentum 3 Wireless has not completely abandoned the previous series in terms of design. The headset, which carries traces of the previous series in general terms, has left the retro design image to a slightly more modern image. There is no such detail in the headband part, which was stitched in the previous series, but this time we can talk about a much more comfortable headband.
There is a button on the earphone that allows you to make the Bluetooth connection. Next to it is a control panel with 3 buttons. You can manage both your music and your calls through this panel. You can perform functions such as mute/unmute, start/stop music, and answer/reject calls.
Finally, there is a toggle button on the earphone, where you can change the Active Noise Cancellation mode.
The product can be easily transported by folding it on itself. You can safely carry your bluetooth headset while saving space. In fact, this situation brings with it a much more important feature.
Thanks to the automatic / on and off feature, the headset is closed when you fold it, and it becomes workable when you bring the headset to a usable position and turn it on.
The main body of the headset is made of steel, as in the previous series. This gives the headset a very high durability. The ear capsules have a similarly sliding structure. Thus, it can be easily adjusted according to the head structure. There is a very comfortable leather covered pillow on the headband. It can be used for long hours without making your head feel uncomfortable. The ear cushions are also leather covered and very comfortable.
The product is offered for sale in 2 color options. One is black and the other is a white/sand white color close to beige.
Sound Quality:
We have come to the part that everyone has been waiting for eagerly. How is the sound quality of the headphones?
The most important reason that made the Momentum series so successful was the sound quality. All headphones of the series, which have a detailed and wide sound character, were highly appreciated by users who love to listen to many music genres.
The Momentum 3 Wireless continues the same character. Having a very detailed, wide and rich sound character/scene, the headphones offer a delicious listening experience with almost all music genres.
The headphones have an enhanced performance, which will please those who like to listen to bass-frequency-leading styles, especially in music called "Bass Head". In fact, we are talking about a bass performance that goes down to 6Hz, rivaling many headphones.
Not to mention the sense of detail and warmth in the treble and mid frequencies. As with the previous series, the Momentum 3 Wireless delivers commendable performance at the respective frequencies.

Features:
ANC (Active Noise Cancellation):
If you were asked which one would take the first place in audio technologies in recent years, most likely the answer would be ANC (Active Noise Cancellation). This technology, which changes our music listening habits and travel habits and will soon become almost an industry standard, is perfectly defined in Momentum 3 Wireless with Sennheiser's patented technology, NoiseGard.
ANC, which is much better and more advanced than the previous series, is in a quality that will be appreciated by everyone who wants to get rid of the noise but does not want the music they listen to be screened due to the dominant structure of ANC.
By the way, as we mentioned at the beginning of the article, you can control the modes of ANC with a button on the earphones.
You can also change additional ANC modes via the Smart Control app:
Mode 1 (Maximum ANC): Active Noise Cancellation) at its highest level
2. Mode (Anti-Wind): Wind and vibrational noise (train, automobile, etc.) blocker
3. Mode (Anti-Pressure): Reducing the pressure when ANC is active
Bluetooth and Codecs:
The Momentum 3 Wireless is a Bluetooth 5 compatible headset. The headset, which has all the advantages of the new version, also has all the current Bluetooth profiles.

- AVRCP

Battery Life:
Sennheiser Momentum 3 Wireless offers up to 17 hours of use on a full charge. The fact that the headset closes when folded is a big plus in this respect. If you are a user who leaves the headset on and runs out of battery, this feature will be your savior.
It is enough to leave it on charge for 2 hours for it to be fully charged. You can also perform the charging process with USB-C supported cables. This means easier, faster charging.
Smart Control Application:
The Smart Control application is an application that can be used with all headphones new to the Sennheiser habitat and has very useful add-ons. The application offers a wide range of compatibility, from the AMBEO Soundbar to the Momentum 3 Wireless, HD 350BT and HD 450BT headphones. The app can be downloaded to both iOS and Android compatible phones and tablets.
We have mentioned above what to do with the application for ANC. You have the chance to update the headset from the application. With the new updates, your headset will gain new features or certain bugs will be fixed. In addition, you will be able to manage the following features:
- Battery Monitoring
- Transparent Hearing
- Equalizer Setting
- Auto Stop
- Voice Assistant Support
- Automatic Call Acceptance
Conclusion:
If you're looking for an all-around great headphone and you have the budget to spare, the Momentum 3 Wireless should be your first choice. With its sound quality, design and technology and features, Momentum 3 Wireless will give results far above the performance you expect from a headset.
